For a few weeks now, Seth Cheek and I have been conducting a viral video experiment. We put out a three part interview of a jailhouse interview with Jason Karnes, with co-worker Courtney Fischer helping out as the reporter. We didn’t put ANYTHING on this to connect it to the movie and yet, part one has racked up over 400 hits. I have only had a few comments that saw it as acting, I have had more that believed what they were seeing. These were shot just a day before they were posted and it was all ad-libbed. As a director, I moved Courtney Fischer beyond what she would do as a “real” reporter because she, nor any other reporter worth their salt, would not have pushed this way. I did it for the sake of art, to see how Seth would react. For those of you who have seen the movie, you will better understand what’s going on. So enjoy.
